Meeting Bill Green
Bill Green, the CEO of the firm I am currently working with, is in town.
Most of the local employees were invited to attend a 'meet-your-CEO' session this evening at the Sime Darby Convention Centre.
One of the traits of a great leader is the ability to speak. His 30-minutes speech was excellent. He related why it was necessary for the firm to reinvent and reorganise itself every few years to stay relevant to the market place. Bill also mentioned why Stewardship was his favourite value and how he strongly believes in Best People (one of the 6 core values of the firm).
Towards the end of his speech, he said something that struck a chord in me. I cannot remember the exact words but he said something to the effect of :

It doesn't matter what kind of person you are. I don't care what car you drive. As long as you have these 3 Cs - Competence, Confidence and Caring, you're set for success.
